What is the total cost?
Registration fees cover all classes in a session. For instance, if your child’s class is 6 classes long, that registration fee covers all 6 classes. Does my child need clubs to participate? All equipment (clubs, balls, etc.) will be provided. However, students are welcome to bring their own clubs. If students are bringing their own clubs, please have their name clearly marked on each club and their bag. What does my child need to bring to class? A water bottle and a positive attitude! After the first class, students will be given a yardage book.  It is their responsibility to bring this to each class and to hold onto that book for each class/session while at that level.  Replacement yardage books are available however a nominal fee may be charged. What should my child wear? Students should arrive dressed for the weather and must wear sneakers or golf shoes. Collared polo-type shirts (tucked in) are preferred but not mandatory. Caps, sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. What is the arrival/departure procedure?  Students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the class start time to check in, get their name tag in order to begin class on time. Parents should arrive just prior to the class end time to pick up their student.  Please do your best to be prompt and respectful of everyone’s time. What happens if there is inclement weather? Classes may be cancelled due to inclement or unsafe weather conditions. You will receive a text at least one hour prior to class time. If two or more classes are cancelled, we will make every effort to hold one make up class at the end of the session. *Please note that some of our locations have indoor or covered areas available to them so class may not be cancelled for some locations during inclement weather. In the event of an on-site cancellation after class has begun, parents will be notified via text, and coaches will remain at the program location with participants until all parents arrive. What if my child misses a class?          Because classes fill to capacity, students cannot join another class to make up for a day they miss during a week and we do not provide make-up classes. If possible, please notify the coach so they know not to expect them. What is your refund policy? Refunds will be made available when a parent notifies First Tee - GCNKY at least 5 days prior to the first day of class, less a $5 administrative fee. Parents must notify First Tee - Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky by contacting Operations Manager, Jeanne Siegel by email at [email protected]. Refunds are not available for classes cancelled due to inclement weather or if a child withdraws during a session. What level is my child? All students, ages 7 and older, who are new to First Tee start at the PLAYer level.  If you are a returning student and are unsure what level your child has achieved, log in to the registration platform. When you select your child’s name their level will appear on the bar to the right. If still unsure, please contact [email protected]. How does my child advance to the next level? After completing the recommended class hours and, becoming proficient in the life skills, golf skills and golf knowledge taught at a level, the coach may recommend a participant to attempt “certification” testing in order to progress to the next level.  The child’s coach will speak with the child and their parent regarding certification and the next steps.  Certification is typically held the week following the end of each session.   At some levels, the coach may choose to hold certification during regularly schedule class time.  At all levels, certification is comprised of written assessments on life skills and golf knowledge, a golf skills assessment and a playing requirement.   If a student completes their certification requirements, they can then register for the next level class at their next session.
